Giorgio Armani has his own magical traditions in Paris. He always showcases his Haute Couture at the Palais de Tokyo and never disappoints his audience. Cleverly mixing the audacious with simplicity in classic Armani style, the designer sent a flurry of red, white and black down his runway. Whilst this colour palette is not the most understated, he has made these gowns appear soft and feminine captivating the heart's of all his admirers.
Each look follows a theme of the fairytale-esque bride who allures in striking hues and contrasts this with a demure array of fabrics. Using elaborate textures like tulle, ribbon fringing, polka-dot veiling and fishnet; each dress has some sort of embellished bustier above a layered skirt which we like to refer to as ‘tulle illusion’. The long veils fitted with exaggerated volume create an edge and the delicate pom-poms above the fishnet add to the dramatic effect.
Overall, this collection evokes softness contrasting the harsh colours that are tamed through gently layered and executed silhouettes for this new beautiful haute couture story. We would like to applaud Giorgio Armani for sharing his fantastic imagination with us and for taking risks with his designs to inspire all of us.
